Simon Gunton, Musical Director of Escape Artists, has recently developed Music and Maths workshops that are designed to encourage young people to explore topics such as probability and fractions by creating their own rhythms and harmonies. These workshops have recently been covered by the BBC on the BBC News Website.

Since studying at the Royal College of Music Simon has performed in a huge range of musical styles ranging from appearing as a soloist at the BBC Proms to backing artists such as Robbie Williams and George Michael. He has a wide experience of outreach work, having lead projects in schools, hospitals and prisons. The Music and Maths workshops cover the full range of musical genres including classical, contemporary, DJing and singing and use both traditional and modern digital instrumentation and recording facilities.

Groups participating in the Music and Maths workshops are taught how to create original pieces of work which are then recorded onto CD. Like other Escape Artists workshops, these workshops can range in length from one day to ten days.
