Our courses are delivered by experienced and trained artists in a variety of art forms including: drama, music, video, creative writing, photography and dance. Each project is carefully planned and designed to address any specific set of aims and objectives you might have and to meet the needs of each client group. Sessions are devised and structured to ensure that the client group achieves the best possible outcomes: both in terms of educational achievement and personal and social development.
Although carefully planned, our work places participants at the centre of the creative process. Careful planning allows us create a safe framework within which participants can freely explore their potential. Supported and empowered by our team, they have the opportunity to produce their own piece of work and explore their creativity. Most of our workshops will culminate in a final production or performance which celebrates the participants’ achievements.
We can also devise a workshop to address a particular theme or issue of your choice. Over the years we have successfully delivered a number of theme based projects addressing such issues as bullying, drug abuse and inter-generational misunderstanding. These projects have taken place in schools, prisons, young offender institutions and community groups. Last year for instance, in partnership with the Royal Shakespeare Company's Education Department, we produced a play with young people in the Fens that was performed in the RSC's travelling theatre.
Our unaccredited activities, which are less costly than an accredited course, can offer fresh perspectives and greatly enhance personal confidence, team-working and the development of social skills.
Here are examples of non-accredited workshops we are delivering on an ongoing basis and that are available off the shelf:
- Music and Maths
Recently featured on the BBC website, this workshop is centred on the creation of a piece of music and has the additional benefit of increasing participants’ levels of numeracy.
- In:Fusion
This participatory theatre workshop is designed to promote dialogue amongst young people and YOT staff with a view to addressing the participation and involvement strategy in the Every Child Matters agenda.
- Fathers in Jail
This workshop has been specifically devised for custodial settings and addresses issues related to fatherhood through interactive drama and engaging activities.
Please note that we can also deliver all of our accredited courses
as non-accredited programmes.
